Frequently asked questions
How much do you charge?
I charge $40 CAD per hour for all contracting services. This includes the time I spend evaluating your project, preparation, project work, clean up, and, in some cases, travel expenses to and from your home.
Do you give estimates/quotes over the phone/email?
No. In order to determine how much your project will cost, I need to be able to evaluate the project space in person. There are a lot of factors that influence how long a project will take, and typically people without professional contracting experience don't recognize them when trying to describe their needs over the phone or email. By assessing your project in person I can give you a more accurate estimate, which will help you avoid unexpected charges later on!
How long will my project take?
Every project is different, and the length of time it will take depends on number of factors including the size and condition of the space, as well as the number of steps involved in doing the work properly. Once I have a chance to survey your project site in person, I'll be able to give you an estimated timeline for the work that needs to be done. Unlike other budget contractors, I don't believe in cutting corners or making unrealistic promises just to win your business. I make sure all of the work I do is done right the first time, which sometimes means projects will take longer than a client thinks it should. While a longer project timeline may not seem ideal at first, you'll be glad you. invested the time into getting quality work done on your home!
Do you provide materials?
While I provide my own tools, the purchasing of consumable materials (e.g. paint, wood, flooring — anything needed specifically for a project) is the client's responsibility. If you need help, I'm more than happy to provide a list of quality materials after I've evaluated your project space in person.
